Where is my students' information stored?

Only on your iPhone or iPad. Nothing is sent to a server, and no account is required. You may enter a nickname instead of a real name.

How do I move to a new device?

Go to Settings > Encrypted Backup, choose a password, and export the file. Import it from the same screen on your new device. This feature is free.
Note: importing replaces all current data, and if you lose the password the backup cannot be restored (not even by the developer — that's what the encryption means). Apple's Quick Start device transfer also carries your data over.

I can't add a fourth student

The free version covers 3 students and 1 custom method book. Otolog Pro (one-time, ¥2,000) makes both unlimited. Progress, assigned pieces, notes, tuition, recital mode, statistics, app lock, and encrypted backup all remain available for free.

I changed devices and Pro is gone

Tap Settings > Restore Purchase, or "Restore Purchase" on the Pro screen. You must be signed in with the same Apple Account used for the original purchase.

How do the piece-number cells work?

Tap to toggle "passed"; press and hold to toggle "practicing". The same actions are available from the menu that appears on a long press, which also offers "Reset to Not Started".

My method book isn't in the presets

Use Add Method Book > Add Custom Book and enter a title and the number of pieces (1–999). The free version allows one; Pro is unlimited.
Note: presets track piece numbers only and contain no song title data.

Why do months show "—"?

Months before you added that student are treated as not applicable and shown as "—". To record a payment anyway, long-press the cell and change the status from "Amount & Note".

Can I sync with iCloud?

Not at this time. Because the app is built around keeping student information off the network, there is no sync — only encrypted backup.

What's in the PDF report?

The student's name and grade, progress in each method book, and the pieces they've passed. Guardian notes and lesson notes are not included — those are your private notes. It's an Otolog Pro feature; export it from "More" on the student screen.

The widget says "Available with Pro"

The Home Screen widget is an Otolog Pro feature. Until you buy it, the widget never shows any student names.

How do I change the recital running order?

Open the recital, tap Edit at the top right, and drag the rows. On the day, tap the circle on each row to record who has played.

Can I share method books with other teachers?

Go to Settings > Method Books > Export Templates to turn your custom books into a file. It contains no student information — only titles and piece counts. The recipient can add them with "Import Templates" (their existing books are kept).
