Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Rosetare ("the app"). By using the app you agree to them.

What the app is

The app is a record-keeping tool. It does not recommend spraying and does not recommend any product. It is not a substitute for the product label or for advice from a qualified adviser.

Mode-of-action group codes are entered by you from your own product label. The app holds no lookup table from active ingredient to group code and does not verify what you enter. A mode-of-action group does not mean the product is approved for use where you live.

Always read and follow the product label, and follow the pesticide rules that apply in your area.

About the disease conditions

What the app shows is an estimate based on published infection conditions, not a validated forecast. Leaf wetness is estimated from temperature and relative humidity, with an error of roughly ±1.5 to 2 hours.

In particular, there is no published, field-validated forecasting model for rose black spot, and the powdery mildew score adapts an approach published for a related pathogen group (grape powdery mildew) that has not been validated for the fungus on roses. Model output is not a substitute for looking at your own plants.

Records are stamped with your device's local time. The app does not claim them as legal proof of application.

Pricing and billing

Keeping a product library, recording sprays and observations, checking a spray against the one before it, seeing today's disease conditions and exporting your spray history as CSV are free, with no limit on how many records you keep.

Additional features — unlimited gardens and zones, checking against the last three sprays, season totals per group, disease conditions ten days ahead and risk notifications — are available through an auto-renewing subscription called "Rosetare Premium". It is offered monthly or yearly, each with a 7-day free trial. Prices per period are shown in the App Store and on the purchase screen in the app.

When the free trial ends, the price for the chosen period is charged to your Apple Account. The subscription renews automatically, and you are charged for the renewal period, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancel from Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your device. You can restore a purchase at any time from the purchase screen or from settings.

Cancelling never deletes the gardens, zones or records you have created. You keep reading, editing, deleting and exporting them; only creating new ones returns to the free limits.

Looking after your data

The content you enter is yours to look after. Because the app stores nothing on a developer server, please plan for device loss, damage and replacement. The CSV export writes your spray history out as text and cannot be read back in. It is not a backup.

What you may not do

  • Modify or decompile the app
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose
  • Record or distribute content that infringes the rights of others

Changes and discontinuation

The app and these terms may change or be discontinued without notice. Weather is supplied by Apple's WeatherKit; if the terms on which it is supplied change, the weather-driven features may become unavailable.

Limitation of liability (overriding)

Notwithstanding any other provision of these terms, Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, our liability for any damages arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app. Where such a limitation is not permitted by mandatory law, we are liable to the extent that law provides.
