What it is
Client details, pet profiles, care instructions, visit records, key locations and door codes all live in one app on one phone.
The app does not send your data anywhere. There is no account, no server and no sync — so there is nothing to sign in to, nothing to go down, and nothing to read at the other end. It opens at the doorstep whether or not you have a signal.
Key and code details, kept covered
Key locations, door codes and alarm codes are encrypted on your device and shown masked by default. Field names stay readable, so you can see at the gate whether a home uses a keypad or a lockbox. The values appear only after Face ID or your passcode, hide themselves again after 30 seconds, and the app covers itself in the App Switcher while they are on screen.
The encryption key lives in this device's Keychain only. As a result, a device backup does not bring those details back. Use "Export everything" in Settings to move them to a new phone.
Everything a visit needs
Owner and pet
Contacts, emergency contact and veterinary practice. Breed, microchip, insurance, temperament, dislikes and hiding places.
Care sheets
Feeding, medication, walks and house rules. The medication field is for writing down exactly what the owner told you.
Visit records
A checklist, notes and photos. Location data is stripped from every photo before it is saved.
Vaccination expiry
Reminders 30 days before. The reminder names neither the pet nor the client.
Key tag ledger
A tag code for each physical key you hold. The code alone does not say which door it opens.
Visit reports
PDF produced on your device and sent with the share sheet.
Backups that actually restore
Export everything to a single encrypted file protected by your own passphrase. It does not depend on the device that made it, so a new phone can read it. There is also a one-client handover export for the day someone else has to cover your round.
Spreadsheet and document exports (CSV, JSON, PDF) are available too. Key locations and door codes are never included in those formats, and there is no option to add them.
Free and full
Free covers 10 clients, 3 photos per visit, reminders for 3 clients and 3 agreements a month. Full access removes those limits and adds your business name and logo to reports, for a single payment — there is no subscription, because there is no server to pay for.
Encryption, the key tag ledger, the biometric lock, backups, imports, exports, deletion and the emergency handover are free and always will be.
What it does not do
Kartella Pets keeps records. It does not give veterinary advice, and it does not judge vaccination intervals — ask the veterinary practice.
A signed agreement in the app is your own note of what was agreed. It does not make that agreement legally binding.
