Replies may take a little time. If you're reporting a problem, it helps to include your iOS version, your device model, and which screen you were on when it happened.

Getting started

  1. Add one student — a name is enough to start.
  2. Tap "Record a lesson" and work down the screen. It's all on one page.
  3. Tap "Preview report" to produce the one-page PDF.
  4. Tap "Share" and send it however you already message the parent.

Carrying homework forward

Anything you put under "Homework" appears at the top of that student's next lesson, as "Last homework". Tap one of the three results.

Saved comments

Settings › Saved comments. Pull them into a report with "Insert a saved comment". The free tier saves up to 10.

Changing the paper size

Settings › Paper size. The default comes from your region — Letter in the US and Canada, A4 elsewhere.

Questions

What do I get for free?

Unlimited students, unlimited lessons, and unlimited history. Carrying homework forward, searching, iCloud sync, exporting and deleting are all free. The only limit is three report PDFs per month.

Where do I see how many reports I have left?

At the bottom of the lesson screen: "N free reports left this month". The allowance resets on the first of each month.

Does re-sending a report use up my allowance?

No. Sharing a report you already created does not use the allowance. Open the past lesson from the student's screen.

What's the difference between the one-time purchase and the yearly plan?

They unlock the same things. The one-time purchase is paid once and does not renew. The yearly plan renews every year until you cancel it.

I changed phones and my purchase is gone

Settings › Restore purchases. You need to be signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. The paywall screen has a restore button too.

Sync is on but nothing is syncing

The sync section in Settings shows the actual state — available, not signed in to iCloud, or temporarily unavailable. The switch being on doesn't mean it's working: sync stops if you're not signed in to iCloud, if iCloud Drive is off, if you're out of storage, or if there's no connection. Check what it says there.

After changing the sync setting, close and reopen the app.

Does my data go anywhere?

There is nowhere for your records to be sent to us — we don't run a server for them. With sync on, they go to your own iCloud.

That said, even with sync off, this app's data is included in your iPhone's iCloud backup or in a backup made to a computer. That isn't something an app can prevent.

A parent has asked me to delete their child's data

Open the student, tap Edit, then "Delete this student's data". You have two options:

Deleting removes the data from this app. Copies inside backups that were already made are not affected.

Can I get my records out?

Yes — Settings › Export records (CSV / JSON), free of charge. If you want the report PDFs as well, use "Full export".

Note that "Export records" is text only and does not include the PDFs, which is why we don't call it a backup.

Can I lock the app?

Settings › Privacy. It uses Face ID, Touch ID or your device's unlock method. There is no separate code of the app's own — that's deliberate, so you can't be locked out of restored records after changing phones. If your iPhone has no passcode set, set one in the Settings app first.

I deleted a lesson by mistake

Tap "Undo" in the bar that appears at the bottom of the screen. Note that "Delete this student's data" also deletes the report PDF files, so it cannot be undone — you'll be asked to confirm before it runs.

Is there an iPad or Mac version?

Not currently. iPhone only.

Can I produce reports in Japanese?

Yes. Settings › Language switches between English and Japanese, and the report follows the language on screen.
