1. Scope
These terms govern your use of the iOS application "Lesson Report" (the "app") provided by freetokyo ("we"). By using the app you agree to these terms.
2. What the app is
The app helps you record lessons and produce a report to give to a parent. It does not:
- issue invoices, calculate tax, or process payments
- send the report for you (you share it yourself using your device's share sheet)
- give advice on teaching or on assessing a student
3. The free tier
There is no limit on the number of students, the number of lessons, or how far back your history goes. Carrying homework forward, searching your history, iCloud sync, exporting your records and deleting them are all available free.
On the free tier you can create three report PDFs per calendar month. The allowance resets on the first day of each month.
4. Purchases
Full access is available either way:
- One-time purchase — you pay once. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
- Yearly plan — renews every year until you cancel.
Both remove the limit on report PDFs and add template switching, showing/hiding and reordering report fields, your own logo and accent colour, and the monthly summary PDF.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account. A yearly plan renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your device's Settings app. Refunds are handled under Apple's terms.
If you bought the one-time purchase, you can restore it on a new device with "Restore purchases", using the same Apple Account.
5. Your responsibilities
What you enter includes information about children and their parents. Because that information does not reach us, managing it is your responsibility. Please comply with the law that applies where you teach, including any obligation to explain what you hold, obtain consent, and respond to deletion requests.
You are also responsible for the content of the reports you produce with the app.
6. Prohibited use
- Anything unlawful or contrary to public order
- Reverse engineering, decompiling or disassembling the app
- Redistributing or reselling the app or any part of it
7. Intellectual property
Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the app belong to us or to the respective rights holders. What you enter into the app, and the reports you produce, remain yours.
8. Limitation of liability
Except in cases of our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, our liability for any damage arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
Where applicable law does not permit this limitation, we are liable to the extent that law requires.
9. Changes and discontinuation
We may change, suspend or discontinue the app without notice. Your data stored on your device remains unless you delete the app, and export is available free of charge.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of Japan. The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute concerning the app.
11. Contact
Limitation of liability (overriding)
Notwithstanding any other provision of these terms, Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, our liability for any damages arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app. Where such a limitation is not permitted by mandatory law, we are liable to the extent that law provides.
