Please include your iOS version, the country your villa is in, and whether you are using Baytlog in English or Arabic.
How much should I split up? One entry per AC, or one for the whole villa?
One entry per unit. Walk through the villa and count the indoor units — bedrooms, majlis, maid's room — and the outdoor units, and add each one separately. Splitting them is what makes the handover file useful: the next owner learns which units were serviced and when, not that "the AC" was.
Where do the suggested intervals come from?
From documents published by public authorities, and each interval shows you the source it came from so you can read it yourself. They are suggestions, not a legal requirement, and you can replace any of them with your own.
My country shows no interval for water tanks. Is that a bug?
No. We could not find an interval published for that country, and we would rather say so than put in a number we cannot point to. Every six to twelve months is common elsewhere in the Gulf; set an interval you are comfortable with and Baytlog will follow it.
Why does Abu Dhabi ask what my tank is made of?
Because the published interval there depends on the tank's material and on whether it sits above or below ground. Answering changes what Baytlog suggests.
Baytlog said a day was dusty and it was not. What now?
Answer "No" when it asks. Only the days you confirm are counted, and a rejected day never affects the suggestions. The reading is Baytlog's own judgement from the weather for the area you picked — it is not an official warning.
Does Baytlog know where my villa is?
Only roughly, and only because you told it. Baytlog never asks iOS for your location. During setup you drag a map until the pin is near your villa, and the point is rounded to about one kilometre before it is saved. Your street address is never required.
Will Baytlog remind me before something is due?
If you turn Reminders on in Settings. Baytlog then schedules a notification at 08:00 on the day a service is due, and for a warranty 30 days before it expires and again on the day. They are local notifications on your iPhone — nothing is sent anywhere — and turning the switch off cancels all of them.
Can I put the handover file in Arabic while I use the app in English?
Yes. The language of the PDF is chosen on the screen where you create it and is independent of the app's language.
Why does the handover file have a notice on the cover?
Because the file is compiled by you from your own entries and has not been verified by anyone else. Saying that plainly is what keeps it honest — so the notice is always printed and cannot be switched off. For the same reason the file shows both the date you entered for the visit and the date your device recorded the entry.
Are photos included in the handover file?
Only if you ask for them. Photos are off by default, and the screen shows the estimated size before you generate the file.
What happens to my data if I stop paying for Pro?
Nothing is deleted. Villas beyond the free limit become read only — you can still open them, read them and include them in a backup — and new entries in those villas are paused until Pro resumes. Photos already attached stay attached.
I paid but Pro is not on.
Open the purchase screen and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with. If you are offline, Baytlog keeps Pro on for 14 days from the last successful check.
How do I move to a new iPhone?
If you use iCloud sync (Pro), sign in with the same Apple Account and the records appear. Otherwise create a backup on the old phone, move the file across, and restore it on the new one. Restoring replaces everything currently in the app on that phone, so it asks you to confirm first.
Does a backup include my photos?
Yes. The backup holds every entry plus the original photos and receipts, which is why it can be large. It is a plain file and is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere you would keep a copy of your own documents.
Can I use it in two currencies?
Yes, and each currency is totalled on its own. Baytlog does not convert between currencies and holds no exchange rates.
Does Baytlog work without a connection?
Recording does — adding equipment, logging a visit, attaching photos and making a backup all work offline. Reading dusty days needs a connection at that moment, and checking your subscription needs one at least once every 14 days.
Do you do anything with my contractors' details?
No. They are saved so you do not have to type them again. Baytlog does not share, rank, publish or recommend contractors, and there is no marketplace in it.
Is the handover file a certificate?
No. It is your own record of your own entries. It is not verified by any third party, it is not an inspection report, and it should not be presented as one.
Baytlog is a personal record-keeping tool. It does not certify maintenance, does not state a legal obligation, and does not provide engineering, legal or valuation advice.
