Getting in touch

Questions and bug reports: freetokyo2020@yahoo.co.jp. Please do not send client names, addresses or entry codes. "On which screen", "what I did" and "what happened" is enough, along with your iOS version, device model and the app version (at the bottom of Settings).

Getting started

1. Record a key

Keys tab, + in the top right: pick a kind and a status, then Save. The count on the home screen changes immediately.

2. Add a client

Clients tab, + in the top right: a name is enough. The address, phone and rate can come later.

3. Add entry information

From the client's Entry information card. Once saved, the values appear only after Face ID.

Face ID is not working

If biometrics fail, your device passcode unlocks the app instead. On a device with neither a passcode nor biometrics the app cannot be locked — the lock screen says so. Set a passcode in the iOS Settings app.

The launch lock can be switched off in Settings. Entry information and key storage locations still require authentication every time.

Reminders are not arriving

Permission is requested the first time you switch reminders on for a client's schedule, never at launch. If nothing arrives, check iOS Settings › Notifications › Kartella Home.

The reminder text never contains a client name, an address or a code, because it is read on a lock screen.

Moving to a new phone

Settings › Create a backup. Choose a passphrase of at least eight characters and whether to include photos; you pick where the file goes. On the new phone, Settings › Restore from a backup. Restoring replaces everything currently in the app.

The passphrase is not stored anywhere, so a lost passphrase means a backup that cannot be opened. And restoring the device from an iPhone or iCloud backup does not bring back door codes or key locations — use this backup for those.

A client asks to be removed

Client › menu › Remove this client. Choose between removing what identifies them and erasing everything; the screen states what stays and what goes before anything happens.

If you are still holding that client's keys, the first option stops and asks you either to record the return first, or to keep the ledger row as a key with no client.

About the purchase

Full access is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple Account. After a new phone, use Restore. If the account already owns it, it unlocks without a purchase sheet — that is expected, not a fault.

Reaching a free-tier limit never locks what you have already recorded: viewing, editing, exporting and deleting stay available.
